Delbert Wayne Hamm, Sr., 51, of Maroa died at 9:54 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Maroa Christian Church, 430 E. Main St. in Maroa.
Tanzyus-Logan Service & Care in Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hamm was born in April of 1964, the son of Charles and Frieda Hamm. He and his wife, Shirley "Ann," married in May of 2003, and she survives after almost 13 years of marriage.
He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed playing video games and watching cartoons with his kids. He enjoyed family get-togethers and proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hamm is survived by his children, Jerry McLeary, Delbert Hamm, Jr. and Natalie Hamm; siblings, Rick (Brenda) Hamm of Litchfield, Bob Hamm of Texas, Roger Hamm of Missouri, David (Thelma) Hamm of Blue Mound and Doug (Toni) Hamm of Chesterfield; six stepbrothers; several nieces and nephews; one granddaughter; one grandfather, Clayborn Wallis of Planeview; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Gerald Conner.
