Donald "Don" Lee McMillan, 82, of Brownstown died Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Brownstown.
Services were held Tuesday, April 28, at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia with the Rev. Bob Chase officiating. Burial followed at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia with military rites accorded.
Mr. McMillan was born on Dec. 13, 1932, in Loogootee, the son of the late Herbert and Nellie Alberta (Swarm) McMillan. He married Rosemary Eller on Sept. 28, 1980, in St. Elmo, and she survives in Brownstown.
He was a general manager at Crane Packing and a member of VFW Post 3862 and American Legion Post #95, all of Vandalia. He was a Korean Conflict Air Force veteran.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McMillan is survived by his daughter, Deborah D. (Dale Jr.) Boatman of Salem; son, David McMillan of Salem; stepchildren, Mary Brown of Bingham, Wes Donaldson of Fillmore and Jane Langston of Vandalia; brother, Alvin (Ann) McMillan of Effingham; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue in Vandalia or Lincolnland Hospice of Sarah Bush Lincoln in Effingham.
