Donald Eugene Payne, 90, of Decatur, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 28, at Harvest Christian Center in Decatur, with Pastor Kirk Henneberry officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Decatur. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Payne was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Decatur, the son of Guy and Daisey (Roller) Payne. He married Barbara Ann Morey in 1951, and she preceded him in death in 1986. He then married Helen LaVerne Jones on Oct. 1, 1988, and she survives.
Serving in the United States Air Force, he worked for Mississippi Valley Structual Steel as a welder. He later worked in maintenance for South Side Country Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Dennis (Debra) Payne, Kevin (Tina) Payne and Mark Payne, all of Decatur; stepsons, David (Tracie) Frazee of Decatur and James (Cheryl) Frazee of Denver, CO; a sister, Ethel Liston of Irving; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his stepchildren, Daniel Frazee and John Frazee; two sisters; and one brother.
Memorials may be made to Harvest Christian Center.
