Dorothy B. Fenton, 90, died Thursday, April 23, 2015, at her home in Carlinville.
A private graveside service will be held at Bethel Ridge Cemetery in Carlinville. Heinz Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fenton was born in Shaw’s Point Township on April 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Robert Karrick and Bertha Friend. She married Edwin “Bud” Fenton on July 11, 1942, in Carlinville, and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She worked at Carlinville Area Hospital for over 30 years and retired after over 15 years at Walmart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Fenton is survived by her son, Robert Fenton of Carlinville; brother, Glenn Karrick of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Dawn Helm, Shelby (husband John) Anderson and Tyler (wife Erica) Fenton, all of Carlinville; three great-grandchildren, Heather Pope, Tatiawna Besserman and Valory Helm; one great-great-grandchild, Jaden Helm; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Donna; three brothers, Dale, George and Carl Karrick; and two sisters, Irene Hantla and Francis Hammond.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville.
