Edwin "Ed" Henry Huber, 83, died at 6:19 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home in Decatur with a vigil prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be said Thursday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at St. James Church in Decatur.
Mr. Huber was born on April 9, 1932, in Witt, the son of Elmer and Bertha Huber. He married Barbara Clara Weiss on April 11, 1959, in Perryville, MO, and she survives in Decatur after 56 years of marriage.
He retired from General Transfer in 1993 and was a member of the Teamsters union and St. James/St. Patrick’s parish in Decatur. He enjoyed family, friends and anything on 18 wheels.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Huber is survived by his children, Teresa Wilson of Decatur, Cathy DeSimone of South Elgin, Lisa Fletcher of Nolensville, TN, and Steve Huber of Decatur; brothers and sisters, Al Huber of St. Charles, MO, Irene Huber of Nokomis, Arthur Huber of Tacoma, WA, and Mildred Clark of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
