Fonda Brewer, 72, of Coalton, died at 4:47 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis with Pastor Ryan Follis officiating. Burial will be in Greenbriar Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, WV.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brewer was born on April 12, 1943, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Clifford and Marjorie I. (Gayheart) Scott.
She married William Leigh on Nov. 5, 1959, and the couple later divorced. She then married Ralph Brewer on April 12, 1982, and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brewer retired from Kroger, was a hairdresser and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Mrs. Brewer is survived by a daughter, Kelli Ransdell of Nokomis; a son, Mitchell Leigh (life partner David Hisen) of Independence, MO; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Wayne) Brogdon of Broken Arrow, OK, and Christine (Pete) Byers of Austin, TX; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jerrylee Siordio of Fontana, CA.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William "Butch" Leigh, Jr. on April 25, 2001.
