Harriet Imogene Hopping Luzader, 96, of Pana died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Pana Community Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 17, at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Fairview United Methodist Church in Nokomis with Pastor Ric Miles officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood-Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Luzader was born on Oct. 20, 1918, at home in Havana in Mason County, the daughter of the late Leo A. and Nettie Gertrude (Parkhurst) Hopping. She married Carroll Luzader, Sr. on Nov.  2, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2001.

She graduated from Havana High School and attended two years of business college in Peoria and received her accounting certificate. She was an accountant and bookkeeper at Burris Meat Market in Peoria and also a homemaker.

Mrs. Luzader was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Nokomis and president of the Fairview United Methodist Women. She loved sewing and had made her son’s clothing.  She also enjoyed cooking and making pies.  She lived for her family and was a very caring person, taking care of people in her home.

She is survived by her son, Carroll “Pete” (wife Joyce) Luzader, Jr. of Nokomis; grandchildren, Heather Luzader of Nokomis and Nathan (wife Ashley) Luzader of  Owaneco; great-grandchildren, Sierra Sisk and Zaylon Sisk; sister, Lucy Halterman of St. Paul, MN; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Luzader was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Hopping and George Hopping, both in infancy; and three sisters, Lulu Belle Hopping in infancy, Bessie Crabtree and Mildred Cooper.
