Merl "Adelle" (Dunlap) Albert, 89, of Brighton died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Targhetta and Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, with the Revs. Clinton White and Joyce Anders officiating.

Burial will be at Shipman Cemetery.

Mrs. Albert was born in Hillview on Nov. 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Carrel M. and Leona A. (Willmington) Dunlap. She married Lawrence N. Albert of Brighton on July 2, 1965, in Brighton.

She was a training nurse cadet for WWII and received her BSN from Washington University. She was also a nursing instructor at St. Joseph's Nursing Academy and at Lewis and Clark College.

Mrs. Albert was chaplain assistant at Alton Memorial Hospital, a Sunday school teacher and a lay speaker at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Brighton.

She is survived by her children, Mary Albert Fritz, Carroll (Shirley) White and Colette (Lyn) Miller, all of Brighton, Clinton (Cindy) White of Godfrey, Barbara (Jeffrey) Kruse of Brighton and Chris (Marienne) White of Litchfield; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Zeller of Westcliffe, CO.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Albert was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Dunlap.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Brighton.
