Ralph E. Carroll, 85, of Fillmore died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Schram City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at the church with Pastor Terry Carlock officiating.

Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carroll was born on May 22, 1929, in Pana, the son of the late William and Clara (Jacobs) Carroll. He married Delores T. Nagle on Aug. 19, 1950, in Pana, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 2005.

He was the oldest member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Schram City. He had worked at the Illinois Roses Greenhouse starting at age 13. He loved the outdoors, especially mowing, and also enjoyed helping people.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his children, Shirley (husband David) Ledbetter of Witt, Marvin Leroy (wife Michelle) Carroll of Hillsboro, Diana Branch of Fillmore and Connie Wilkinson of Searcy, AR; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy (wife Mary) Carroll of Wenonah, Marvin (wife Beverly) Carroll of Nokomis and Lloyd Carroll of Pana; and numerous nieces and  nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Lee Carroll; daughter, Linda Lou Carroll; four grandchildren; brothers, Alva "Buck" Carroll and Nova Eller; and two sisters in infancy.

Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Schram City.
