Robert Charles Kuhn, 96, of Oconee died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at 8:20 a.m. in Pana Community Hospital.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Kuhn is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oconee at 10:30 a.m.; the Rev. Don Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oconee. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon, March 3, from 4 until 6 p.m. in the McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana, with a prayer service conducted by the Rev. Rodney A.  Schwartz at 6 p.m.

Mr. Kuhn was born on Jan. 6, 1919, at the home of his parents, Louis and Anna (Pollman) Kuhn. He married Virginia Klein on Dec. 30, 1941, in St. Patrick's Church, Pana; she survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Joyce (Eugene) Knodle of Fillmore, Regina (Roger) Landon of Chandlerville, Carole (James) Wetherell of Springfield, and Karen (David) Koons of Tower Hill; three sons, Robert L. (Gloria) Kuhn of Oconee, Kenneth (Rhonda) Kuhn of Olney, and Randy (Mary) Kuhn of West End, NC; one daughter-in-law, Kellie Kuhn of Oconee; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-granchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Kevin; four sisters, Leona Hoehn, Norma Chausse Marley, Ruth Schmidt, and Annabel Cocagne, and one brother, James Kuhn.

He graduated from Sacred Heart School, Oconee, and from Pana Township High School; he was a dairy farmer until his retirement. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Oconee and of the Holy Name Society of the church; the Knights of Columbus Oconee Council 14061; the Oconee Lions Club; and was an honorary member of the Oconee Country Club. He and his wife were part of a caravan to Appalachia every fall for 23 years, and they popped kettle corn for the Oconee Fall Festival for 16 years. He was very active in his church and community.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Sacred Heart Church (Oconee), Sacred Heart School (Pana), or the Pana Community Hospital Foundation.
