Robert D. Frazier, 77 of Hillsboro died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at his residence.

A private family service is planned at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Mr. Frazier was born on Nov. 16, 1939, in Beckemeyer, the son of the late Luther Frazier and Dorothy (Sparkman) Frazier Johnson. He was a graduate of Breese Community High School where he was an all-state small school basketball player.

He owned Insurance Managers, an independent insurance agency, in Hillsboro for many years.

Mr. Frazier was a U.S. veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves for six years.

He enjoyed attending all of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He coached girls softball, enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and taking his wife fishing. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He was a Boy Scout leader in Breese and on the Hillsboro 4th of July Committee.

Mr. Frazier was a member of the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church and past president of both the Breese Jaycees and Hillsboro Lions Club. He was on the Illinois Independent Insurance Agents board of directors and a member of Bremer Wildlife Sanctuary.

He and his wife, Judith, enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

Mr. Frazier is survived by two sons Robert J. (Gwendolyn) Frazier of Irving and Alan C. Frazier (companion Mildred Anders) of Springfield; two daughters, Pamela J. (Todd) Gittemeier of Highland and Debra L. (Ron) Holt of St. Jacob; five grandchildren surviving Benjamin Frazier, Adrienne Frazier, Eric Moroney (fiancee Alyssa Edwards), Grant Holt (companion Shaina Rittenhouse) and Olivia Holt; and a sister Donna (Edgar) Starke of Charlottesville, VA.

Memorials may be given to the Bremer Wildlife Sanctuary.
