Sam H. Casey, 62, of Hillsboro died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at his residence.
Cremation rites were accorded, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Casey was born in Hillsboro on Sept. 7, 1954, the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Cress) Casey. He married Susan Lorraine Bellott on July 26, 1975, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2016.
He lived his entire life in Hillsboro and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a boilermaker and a member of Boilermakers Union Local 363 in Belleville.
Mr. Casey is survived by three sons, Stan Casey (wife Kimberly Frerichs-Casey) of Litchfield; Steve Casey (companion Heather Wilson) of Edwardsville and Scott (wife Anna) Patterson of Kathleen, GA; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Charlie Casey of Schram City and Dave Scott of Nokomis.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Casey; and sister, Charlotte Huddelston Havron.
