Sherilyn Ann Evans, 65, of Nokomis died Monday, May 25, 2015, at 5:43 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 31, at 3 p.m. at Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis with Pastor Chris Huff officiating. Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis.
Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Evans was born on July 21, 1949, in Taylorville, the daughter of the late Ted and Maxine (Rogers) Durbin. She married Victor K. Evans on April 11, 1987, in Vandalia, and he preceded her in death.
She retired as a clerk for the Illinois Secretary of State. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her son, James Carroll of St. Louis; daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Dooley of Monticello; grandchildren, Kyle and Trey Dooley of Monticello and Devante Carroll-Lee of St. Louis; sister, Marla (Mike) McCall of Nokomis; nieces and nephews, Angie McCall of Taylorville, Jason McCall of Nokomis and Bret McCall of Clearwater, FL; and several aunts and uncles.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted Durbin, Jr. and Joseph Theodore Durbin, Jr. in infancy.
