Shirley J. O'Brien Bialas, 75, of Riverton died Friday, May 1, 2015, at Gowin Parc in Taylorville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at the Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. The Rev. Dayle Badman will officiate, with burial to be in Kettelkamp Cemetery, Nokomis. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, the day of the funeral.

Mrs. Bialas was born on June 8, 1939, in Taylorville to Herschel and Elinor (Vangiesen) O'Brien.

She became President and CEO of the Financial Partners Credit Union, retiring from that position in May 2010. She served as a director of the Illinois Credit Union League from 1994 until 1999 and chaired their annual meeting in 1997. A person who enjoyed playing golf and fishing, she was a member of the Riverton Eagles Club and of a Red Hat Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee (husband Art) Paine of Morrisonville and Gayla (husband Robert) Gudgel of Girard; six grandchildren, Eric and Chad Paine, Shevon Wilson, Rachel and Jessica Gudgel, and Krystle Horner; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and longtime companion Ron Flynn of Riverton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joan Jelley; and one brother, Daniel O'Brien.
