Connie Sue Linville, 78, of Greenville, died on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at 4:35 p.m. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sorento Baptist Church, 206 West Taylor Street. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the church with Pastor Gene DeClue officiating. Interment will take place in Kirkland Cemetery in rural Sorento. Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Sorento is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Linville was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Bingham, to Ned Raymond and Freida (Rhodes) Hicks, Sr. She married Billy Ross Linville on June 18, 1961, at the United Methodist Church in Nokomis, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2012.

She graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1958, and went to work for the State of Illinois. Upon her retirement, she worked for many more years providing in-home healthcare to many in the Bond County area.

Mrs. Linville was an Elvis Presley enthusiast, collecting a variety of Elvis memorabilia. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and bragging about her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Sorento Baptist Church.

Mrs. Linville is survived by three children, Mike Linville of Litchfield, Sharon Linville of Pocahontas and David A. (Jane) Linville of Vandalia; grandchildren, Ashley Linville, Chelsea Salmons, David R. Linville and Reuben McMillan; great-granddaughters, Haley and Kaidence; a brother, Ned R. Hicks, Jr. of Nokomis; a sister, Nelda (Mario) Bernadini of Nokomis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Linville; granddaughter, Nakita Ahrens; and a sister, Janet Boone.
