Connie Watson, 71, of Hillsboro, died on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 8:20 p.m., at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab in Taylor Springs.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. C.J. Dyas, pastor of Free Methodist Church, will officiate.
Mrs. Watson was born on Sept. 14, 1952, in Hillsboro, to the Rev. Leland and Leona (Plunkett) Redfern. She married Ronald B. Watson, on Dec. 24, 1970, in Hillsboro, and he preceded in death on March 17, 2022.
Mrs. Watson was a graduate of Carlinville High School in Carlinville and had worked at McDonald’s restaurant in Hillsboro for 20 plus years. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro and she loved crafting. She had lived in Hillsboro most of her adult life.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her parents, the Rev. Leland and Leona Redfern of Centralia; son Dustin (Joann) Watson of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Matthew Watson, Tyler Watson, Thomas Watson and Kaden Watson; and brother, Chuck Redfern of Centralia.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Nikkie Redfern.
