Dorothy Darlene Jones, 84, of Altamont, formerly of Vandalia, died Friday, March 1, 2024, at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Mound Cemetery in Oconee. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones was born March 31, 1939, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Ralph I. and Genevieve (Sanders) Skinner-Neuenschwander. She worked as a CNA at the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, and was affiliated with the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Mark (Debi) Carroll of Vandalia and daughters Cindy (Clem) Scribner of Ramsey and Tina (Brian) Cook of Mulberry Grove; stepson Matt (Ava) Jones of Missouri;15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Robert Skinner of Florida; and sister Ruth Ann Brown of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Judy Rhodes, and brothers Donald and James Skinner.
