Gertrude Nantkes-Brockmeyer, 97, of Raymond, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Concordia Village in Springfield.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nantkes-Brockmeyer will be held Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel. The Rev. Joseph Nehring and the Rev. Scott Busaker will officiate and burial will be in the Harvel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Nantkes-Brockmeyer was born May 27, 1926, in Farmersville, to the late John Albert and Emma Marie (Holtkoetter) Jaeger, Sr.  She first married Lamar Dale Nantkes on Nov. 11, 1945 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel, and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1994.  Later, she married Olyn A. Brockmeyer on June 26, 1999, also at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2008. 

Throughout her life, Mrs. Nantkes-Brockmeyer had worked at the J.J. Newberry Department Store and the Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield, as well as a farmwife and a beautician.  Her main focus though, was the love and care of her family.  She was an amazing cook and baker.  She also enjoyed gardening and was known for her spectacular flower beds.  Mrs. Nantkes-Brockmeyer was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. 

Mrs. Nantkes-Brockmeyer is survived by her sons, Danny (Marty) Nantkes of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, and Greg (Sheri) Nantkes of Navarre, FL; daughters, Carol (Mike) Hampton of Waggoner, Cheryl Nantkes of Raymond, JoEllen (Greg, deceased) Lyons of Glenarm and Susan (Jim) Aherin of Farmersville; step-daughters, Cheryl Fischer of Winthrop Harbor, Tammy Welcome of Oakland, CA and her step-son Tracy Brockmeyer of Bloomington, and step-daughter-in-law, Ginny Brockmeyer of Raymond; grandchildren, Tania (Jason) Maschhoff, Chad (Jackie) Nantkes, Justen (Heather) Hampton, Seth (Tara) Hampton, John (Katie) Lyons, Jessica (Mark) Moxley, Kyle Aherin, Savannah (Mat) Boston, Kyle Nantkes; and 11 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Abby, Hanna, Zoey, Cole, Dylan, Taylor, Haydin, Haylee, Chase, Alayna, Jack, Aidan, Elliot, Christopher, Aubrie, Evelyn and Luca; 22 step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; brother, Les Jaeger of Litchfield; and sister, Alberta Smith of Morrisonville.

In addition to her first husband, Lamar, and her second husband, Olyn, she is preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Mike) Henry; stepson-in-law, Lee Fischer; stepson, Terry Brockmeyer; stepson-in-law, Mike Welcome; brothers, John A. Jaeger, Jr. and Harold Jaeger; and her sisters, Hilda Marburger and Marie Grosenheider.
