Lisbeth A. Klaustermeier, 68, of Benld, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, with her loving husband by her side.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge. Kravanya Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Klaustermeier was born on Oct. 16, 1955, in Hillsboro, to the late Robert Dressen and Jean Laws Dressen. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1973 and attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. She married Jim Klaustermeier on March 17, 1978, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. They lived in St. Petersburg, FL, for 28 years before moving to Benld.
Mrs. Klaustermeier loved working on the beach at the Miramar hotel while in Florida and then worked for various law firms after they moved to Benld to be near family and friends. She volunteered at Benld Adopt-A-Pet, and she enjoyed painting, puzzles, gardening and her animals.
Mrs. Klaustermeier is survived by her husband of 45 years, James C. Klaustermeier; stepsons Brad (Carla) Klaustermeier and Eric (Karen) Parks; brothers, Dr. Fred (Joni) Dressen and Doug (Karyl) Dressen and sisters Nancy (Don) Dressen-Krefft and Caroline (Gary) Thompson; grandchildren Zachary, Kaylee, Keaton, Cole and Robert; great-granddaughter Tatum; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step son, Jeff Klaustermeister; father-in-law and mother-in-law Vernon and Dorothy Klaustermeier; brother-in-law Vernon Klaustermeier Jr.; and nephew, James D. Dressen.
